Video: Mykhailo Mudryk pulls off outrageous piece of skill for Chelsea against Borussia Dortmund
Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk captured the imagination of supporters in Chicago last night when he pulled off an outrageous piece of skill against Borussia Dortmund.
A video published on the club’s official Instagram shows him controlling a long, searching ball from Reece James perfectly with a rabona touch, before driving at the defence in typical style.
While minutes have not always been easy to come by this summer for Mudryk, he will no doubt be pleased with his contributions up to now.
He found his first goal in blue during the Premier League Summer Series against Brighton, and the strike was a thing of beauty after great link-up play with new signing Nicolas Jackson.
It looks as if he has been impressing in training recently too. Teammate Ben Chilwell has claimed that the Ukraine international has been on fire for them during their pre-season tour of the United States.
Mudryk outrageous skill
This has been backed up by a video that surfaced online of him cutting inside onto his right foot before striking a fierce shot into the far top corner.
Another clip which is sure to get supporters excited for the upcoming campaign has appeared from last night’s friendly against Dortmund. The Blues ended an impressive pre-season unbeaten following a 1-1 draw in Chicago.
The clip shows James drill a cross-field pass directly to Mudryk, who kills it dead with a rabona before immediately looking to run at the defence.
It is this kind of direct dribbling that the club looked at before spending the big money to bring him in instead of him ending up at Arsenal.
With the wide positions very much up for grabs this season, it could be a big campaign for the young Ukranian this season.
