‘Can he?’: Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink now has one big question for £32m Chelsea player
Chelsea legend Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink thinks Nicolas Jackson is doing too much outside of the box and needs to start reserving some of his energy.
Nicolas Jackson was unable to inspire Chelsea to a win against Bournemouth yesterday, with Mauricio Pochettino’s men dropping more points after their 0-0 draw at the Vitality Stadium.
Speaking live on Sky Sports before the game, Hasselbaink said: “He’s doing a little bit too much outside the box. You know, can he reserve his energy a little bit, so he’s a little fresher when he gets the opportunities and a little bit calmer?”

Chelsea’s draw with Bournemouth means the Blues have now taken just five points from their first five matches in the Premier League this season.
As for Jackson, who cost his current employers £32m, he has scored just one goal across those five top-flight fixtures.
Nicolas Jackson needs to improve inside the box
In the coming weeks, Jackson definitely needs to put more of an emphasis on what he does inside the penalty area.
Outside of it, the 22-year-old has been excellent. He has not been scared to take on defenders and has often got the better of them.

According to WhoScored, Jackson is currently completing 2.2 dribbles per game, the joint-highest average in Pochettino’s squad.
However, inside the area, there is clearly a lot of work to do, with the Senegal international yet to add to his strike against Luton Town, which came towards the end of August.
If Jackson can start adding goals to his game, then that is some striker Chelsea could have on their hands. The former Villarreal man is still young and has not been in the Premier League for long, so with time, maybe he can.
