Chelsea youngster hints he is going to face Aston Villa today despite just playing for the U21s

Chelsea youngster Deivid Washington has hinted on social media that he is going to be in the squad to face Aston Villa in the Premier League today.

The Brazilian posted a pre-match graphic to his Instagram story hinting that he would be involved, despite the quick turnaround from his last involvement in any capacity in a Chelsea shirt.

Washington has been known to make it clear on social media whether he is going to be involved in the squad for the upcoming Premier League game.

He posted a similar graphic when he was named on the bench in the Chelsea side who were defeated against Nottingham Forest. He was not brought on to try and turn the tide late on.

However, the fact he may be involved today will come as a surprise to many who have been following the adventures of the youth team.

Washington hints he’ll be in the Chelsea squad

Washington found the net for the first time in a U21 match against Manchester City in Premier League 2 on Friday night.

The young Blues came from behind to beat their opponents, and the Brazilian was a key factor in the comeback victory.

With the Premier League outing being just two days after the youth team match, it would seem unlikely to most that he would be involved in any capacity.

However, it has been clear when looking at the sides being named by Mauricio Pochettino for recent games that there is a serious problem with injuries in the first team squad.

Frequently, the manager has been forced to look to his academy when naming a side, and it looks as if this is going to be the case today.
