Video: Mykhailo Mudryk leaves Mauricio Pochettino impressed with stunning goal in Chelsea training

Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk stunned numerous people in training when he scored a sensational goal with his weak foot.

The video posted on the club’s official YouTube channel shows the Ukraine international firing home from distance, before being congratulated by a clearly impressed Mauricio Pochettino.

Mudryk is one of the players who will be hoping they are granted a start for today’s Premier League match against Aston Villa.

The 22-year-old was given the nod for the first time last weekend when the Blues made the trip to Bournemouth for what turned out to be a 0-0 draw.

He was given the opportunity to play ahead of Ben Chilwell, who has been captaining the club ever since Reece James fell injured in the opening days of the season.

Mudryk’s display in the first half in particular did little to hurt his stock as he continues to hope for more opportunities to live up to the heavy pricetag on his head.

He created a number of chances, including one to skipper on the day Conor Gallagher who was gutted that he didn’t break the deadlock in the first half.

The Ukrainian has been part of the first team training this week as the group have looked to do whatever they can to help get the Blues back to winning ways.

He certainly went the right way about impressing the manager on the training pitch as he fired a fantastic effort into the top corner with his weak foot.

It remains to be seen whether Chilwell is recalled to the side to play in an advanced role on the left, with it unlikely that Pochettino selects both him and Mudryk for the game.
