'End of discussion': Simon Jordan now thinks only one thing can change Todd Boehly's Chelsea legacy

Simon Jordan believes Todd Boehly will only be able to change his legacy if Chelsea start winning games.

Todd Boehly has not owned Chelsea for long, but Jordan has suggested that the American is already building what some may view as a bad legacy that can only be improved by the team claiming trophies.

Speaking on talkSPORT, Jordan said: “The only thing that will change Todd Boehly’s ‘legacy’ — his current achievements — will be his team winning, [not building a new stadium]. End of discussion.”

Chelsea have regressed massively under the ownership of Boehly and Clearlake Capital.

The Blues finished 12th last season and currently sit two positions lower this term.

Not looking good for Todd Boehly and Co

If Boehly left Chelsea today, he would not be remembered for the right reasons.

Chelsea have spent a lot of money under this new regime and have brought in some top players like Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo. They also have a good coach in Mauricio Pochettino at the helm. However, where are they going right now? Nowhere.

Perhaps the club’s new owners have spent too much money. Chelsea have lost their core, Mason Mount, Mateo Kovacic, Jorginho, N’Golo Kante, players who all helped the club to win the Champions League only a couple of years ago.

They now have a team with new signings everywhere who are quite clearly struggling to click. The assembling of this very team is just one criticism you can aim at Boehly and his partners.

With all of that being said, the American has not even owned the club for two years yet. The time to truly judge is not yet.
