Anton Ferdinand has explained why he’s still confident Mauricio Pochettino is the right fit for Chelsea and will come good at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea haven’t quite got off to the blistering start this season that many expected, picking up just five points from their opening five Premier League matches.
Next, Mauricio Pochettino’s side take on an Aston Villa side that should be optimistic travelling to West London.
Despite an indifferent start to the season, Anton Ferdinand has big faith that Pochettino is the right fit for this Chelsea project.
“I think he is the correct man for the job in terms of the young players and what the future holds for Chelsea,” Ferdinand told FIVE’s YouTube channel.
“He’s the right man because he’s proven what he’s done with young players.”
In our view, he’s the right man at the right time for Chelsea. We definitely see light at the end of the tunnel!
We feel like the Chelsea fanbase are firmly behind Pochettino right now, albeit a few tactical decisions with his line-up do divide opinion.
He’s not expected to work miracle straight away with this group, especially while the likes of Reece James, Moises Caicedo and Christopher Nkunku are unavailable through injury.
However, the Blues really need to start turning some of these positive performances into more points.
This team really needs its forward players to step up to the plate, and the potential is there to make yourself an instant favourite if you bag a couple of goals.
