Journalist says 24-year-old Chelsea player now not likely to leave in final hour of transfer window

Journalist Nizaar Kinsella has claimed that the expectation is that Trevoh Chalobah will stay at Chelsea today.

He took to Twitter to state that no deal to see the 24-year-old leave this summer is close in the final few moments of the transfer window.

Today has been a pretty hectic day as far as Chalobah is concerned, with him linked to numerous exits from Stamford Bridge.

It was originally believed he would be on the way to Bayern Munich to reunite with former manager Thomas Tuchel.

However, they were only keen on a loan, and their transfer budget didn’t allow them to complete a permanent deal.

Then, Nottingham Forest launched a bid to sign the Englishman, although their offer was vastly below what they deemed correct.

Later on in the day, Tottenham were reported to be sniffing around any potential signing.

Kinsella has now claimed though that at this late stage, it does not look as if he will be on the move.

He said: “Trevoh Chalobah still firmly expected to remain at Chelsea. No deals with Tottenham or anyone else close with very little time left.”
