'Outmuscled': Scott Minto has noticed opposition players hate playing against £32m Chelsea player this season
Scott Minto has noticed opposition players are having a tough time playing against Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson.
It’s been a bit of a mixed bag this season for Nicolas Jackson at the start of his Blues career, earning praise from some areas while receiving criticism from others.
The 22-year-old striker passed the eye test in some of his early performances with his movement and general play. However, there’s fears he’s falling into the familiar trap of being an inconsistent finisher.
He’s now scored two goals in his opening eight Chelsea appearances across all competitions, including in Wednesday night’s 1-0 win against Brighton in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
The plain fact is that Mauricio Pochettino’s side needs much more end product from all their attackers moving forward.

TalkSPORT pundit and former Chelsea player Scott Minto still has faith in Jackson as a player. In particular, he thinks the Senegal international is someone opponents don’t like coming up against because of his physical attributes.
“I think he will be a player. I’ve seen him be strong. I’ve seen him hold the ball up with defenders hanging off him. I’ve seen him making clever runs,” Minto told talkSPORT (7:25pm, 28 September).
“I’ve seen him with the traits that defenders do not want to pick him up. They do not want to mark him. They don’t want to get close because they’re being outmuscled.
“Everyone is looking at the Nottingham Forest miss and saying he can’t finish. Good finish last night [against Fulham]. Give the guy time.”

Blues defender Levi Colwill has given Jackson a huge vote of confidence this week by insisting his teammate will score a lot of goals once everything clicks, as quoted by The Evening Standard.
It feels like everyone, including supporters, is desperate for the £32million striker (Daily Mail) to do well.
We think the return of Armando Broja to compete for the No 9 position is going to bring the best out of both young forwards.
