Report: £250k-a-week Chelsea player could now be banned by the FA and miss more games

Reports have claimed that Chelsea defender Reece James is now set to be banned by the FA in the coming days.

According to the Mail Online, the club captain is expected to accept whatever comes his way after he was picked up for what happened after the Aston Villa defeat.

It is alleged that James confronted Australian referee Jarred Gillett following a 1-0 defeat for the Blues at home.

While it is unknown what the 23-year-old was aggrieved about, there were a number of moments throughout the 90 minutes that could have infuriated those associated with the Blues.

The official stopped the first half after 47 minutes, despite signalling that there were to be a minimum of three minutes to be added on.

This angered Chelsea players at the time notably, however the worst was yet to come in the second half.

James set for ban

Malo Gusto was sent off for a strong challenge, and the decision was later backed up by former official Dermot Gallagher.

However, it is impossible to not look at decisions that have gone against the Blues in the past that are similar when accepting this decision.

Despite James’ anger likely having a viable source, it is reported that he is going to accept the charge that is coming his way.

The right-back has only played once this season so far, with him picking up an injury in the opening days of the campaign.

He is so far yet to return, and this comeback now looks like it’s going to be further delayed.
