Report: Chelsea have inserted sell-on clauses into three players who they sold this summer
Reports have claimed that Chelsea have made sure they have sell-on clauses in the contracts of at least three of the many players they have sold this summer.
According to The Athletic, the Blues have made sure that when selling Christian Pulisic, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ruben Loftus-Cheek that they will receive a decent sum again if any of those are sold again.
Chelsea made sure that their clear out reached extortionate level this summer by signing off on a high level of players to leave the club.
Plenty of these were players that have previously played big parts in the first team. However, after finishing 12th in the league it is expected that this would go under scrutiny.
An unfortunate side-effect as far as supporters are concerned of the mass exodus is the fact that many of those who were sold have built a relationship with fans after breaking through via the academy.
Chelsea have sell-on clause on three players
They made big money on the sales of Lewis Hall and Mason Mount, however there were a number of others who left too.
Loftus-Cheek has been tearing things up in Serie A for new club AC Milan, with the Serie A club very keen to bring him in.
Premier League side Nottingham Forest also made the acquisition of Hudson-Odoi, although he wasn’t fit to face them last weekend.
With the potential he has shown particularly, there is no doubt hope that he can bring in more money than the small transfer fee they demanded.
Another player they will hope for this would have been Pulisic, who had been out of favour at Stamford Bridge for some time.
The American has also enjoyed a strong start to life at the San Siro, and will be looking forward to the big Champions League nights that are coming.
