Report: Chelsea man who is yet to play for Pochettino now ready for behind closed doors friendly
Reports have claimed that Chelsea striker Armando Broja is now fit enough to take part in a scheduled friendly behind closed doors.
According to LondonWorld, the striker is targeting a return soon after not yet featuring at all this season.
Broja is yet to show what he can do to new manager Mauricio Pochettino since the Argentine took charge of the club a few months ago.
He was not fit enough to travel with the first team squad that made the trip to the United States for the pre-season tour.
Here the Blues went unbeaten for the first time in over a decade as they got the best possible preparation in for the new season.
One of the stars was Nicolas Jackson, who found the net on a regular basis against Premier League opposition.
Broja fit for behind the scenes friendly
However, now the Premier League campaign is underway there have been questions asked about whether he is ready to deliver on the big stage consistently.
When looking to the bench however, there have been few options the manager has been able to call upon in an attempt to bring something different to a game.
It was reported today that the Blues were against signing a big-name striker as they are still recovering from the impact of the terrible addition of Romelu Lukaku.
Despite this, it has now been claimed that he soon could finally have another number nine to call upon, with Broja pushing towards being fully recovered.
It has been claimed that the club have been cautious surrounding the return of a player who has not been in action since December last year.
While he may not be the long-term saviour of the club’s goal problems, his return will certainly bring the attack a new element.
