'We are so happy with him': Pochettino delighted with £50,000-a-week player who could leave Chelsea today
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino says he is happy with Conor Gallagher despite the midfielder being linked with an exit.
Conor Gallagher could still end up leaving Stamford Bridge today, with the Daily Mail reporting that Tottenham Hotspur have made a £40m bid for the player, but it does not look like Mauricio Pochettino is pushing him out of the club.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference ahead of Chelsea’s match against Nottingham Forest tomorrow, the Argentine told reporters: “We are so happy with him. Gallagher shows great commitment for the club.
“We are happy with him and he was captain two days ago vs Wimbledon. What happens in the future? I cannot tell you.”
Pochettino has relied on Gallagher in this early part of his tenure at Stamford Bridge, starting him in all three of Chelsea’s Premier League games so far. He also handed him the captaincy in their clash against AFC Wimbledon in the second round of the Carabao Cup.
Mauricio Pochettino is a fan
It certainly does look like Pochettino appreciates Gallagher. If it was his decision, the above suggests that he would keep the £50,000-a-week (Spotrac) England international at Stamford Bridge.

However, after spending so much money on new players during this transfer window, the club’s bosses may now be forced to sell Gallagher to help balance the books.
According to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth, Chelsea will listen to offers that they deem as suitable.
