'Both in the squad': Mauricio Pochettino says two Chelsea players are available tomorrow vs Burnley
Mauricio Pochettino says Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo and Mykhailo Mudryk will both be in the squad tomorrow against Burnley.
He’ll now make the decision on whether they’ll start Saturday afternoon’s Premier League fixture.
The Blues go into this weekend fresh off the back of beating Fulham 2-0 on Monday night, but there were some injury concerns coming out of that game.
Moises Caicedo, 21, limped off with an injury worry versus Fulham. Meanwhile, 22-year-old Mykhailo Mudryk was taken off at half-time after scoring his first Chelsea goal this week.
Thankfully, there’s been some positive news today about the pair.
Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino has given a double injury boost ahead of the league clash against Burnley.
When asked about the fitness of Caicedo and Mudryk in his pre-match press conference, Pochettino said via Chelsea’s X account: “Yes, both in the squad, we will decide if they can be available to play from the start or not.”
Caicedo is an all-action defensive midfielder beginning to find his feet in Chelsea colours, so the last thing he needs is a pause right now. Our guess is the youngster will be starting in the center of the park, where he’s beginning to forge a partnership alongside Enzo Fernandez.
As for Mudryk, he must be raring to get back on the pitch after his excellent goal on Monday night. The left-winger seems like a confidence player that is hitting his stride.
With an international break starting next week, it feels vital Chelsea sign off for it with a win away to Burnley.
Chris Sutton has said he thinks Chelsea will be desperate for Mudryk to feature on Saturday, as quoted by BBC Sport. It sounds like the Blues will get that wish, too!
