‘The speed’: After Mudryk, Mario Melchiot stunned by the pace of another 22-year-old Chelsea player
Mario Melchiot was stunned by the pace of Chelsea’s Armando Broja earlier this week.
A lot of comments in terms of quick Chelsea players is usually pointed in the direction of Mykhailo Mudryk, the 22-year-old Blues left-winger with lightning speed.
However, he definitely faces competition from other teammates at Stamford Bridge when it comes to pace.
Armando Broja, who’s also 22, made his first start of the season in Monday night’s 2-0 win away to Fulham in the Premier League.
The Blues centre-forward is still working up to full fitness after a long-term injury layout, but he showed glimpses of his raw speed.

ESPN pundit Melchiot
When discussing Broja after the Fulham match, Melchiot told ESPN: “He hadn’t played in almost a year. The way he played, the speed that he accelerated in the game, you could see him turning away from the defensive line of Fulham. I felt like he came back really strong. It’s only his first start, but he looked like a player that I forgot about his injury.”
