‘Big decision’: Chelsea player expected to leave next summer could now stay at the club – journalist
Journalist Dean Jones has now claimed that Thiago Silva could actually change his mind about leaving Chelsea at the end of this season.
He told GiveMeSport that a turn in form for the club could now see the player decide that he wants to stay for at least another year at Stamford Bridge.
Silva has been an ever-present in the Premier League this season, and this has likely come as a shock even to him at this stage of his career.

There have been plenty of reports that he could be on the move when his contract comes to an end at the end of this campaign.
However, Jones has now claimed that he may find it tough to leave if Chelsea continue to get themselves on the right path for the future.
He said: “I think stranger things have happened, we know that Silva and his family love Chelsea and love London. I think they’ve got a very comfortable life here and he is one of the very few leaders that Chelsea have got in that team at the moment, because they’ve been buying such young talent.
Silva could stay now
“I can definitely see a world in which Chelsea would be looking for him to stay and, yeah, it’s a big decision for him as to whether he does. I think his mind has always been set that this will be his final season at Chelsea, but that can change especially given that Chelsea are starting to deliver performances now.
“It’d be tricky for him to leave if Chelsea were just starting to get good. That’s going to be a lot more difficult for him to just walk away from this if there was some promise that next season might actually lead to a better time at the club.”
Mauricio Pochettino will currently find it difficult to drop the veteran defender ahead of the return to the Premier League this weekend.
This is despite youngster Levi Colwill being back in training following his recent shoulder injury.
