'Inside Chelsea': Journalist now shares how figures at Stamford Bridge feel after Newcastle defeat
Figures at Chelsea do not seem to be too happy after the Blues’ 4-1 loss against Newcastle United yesterday.
It was a really bad day at the office for Mauricio Pochettino‘s side and TEAMtalk journalist Fraser Gillan has shared what the mood is currently like at Stamford Bridge on X.
Chelsea would have been feeling optimistic going into the game after taking four points from their previous two outings against Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.
However, that optimism would have gone out of the window after Alexander Isak opened the scoring early in the first half.
Raheem Sterling equalised with a stunning free-kick to give Chelsea hope again, but his goal went to waste after the team’s second-half collapse.
Chelsea’s defeat to Newcastle has not gone down well
According to Gillan, those at Stamford Bridge are not happy with Chelsea’s loss at St James’ Park and the manner of it.
On the social media platform X, the journalist posted: “Today’s result has not gone down well inside Chelsea. A lot of disappointment and shock at the side’s collapse in the second half.”

Is Mauricio Pochettino’s job now in danger?
Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital have already got rid of two managers after sacking Graham Potter and Thomas Tuchel last season. Considering that, it is not impossible that they eventually decide to part ways with Pochettino as well.
Hopefully it does not come to that, as there have been some promising signs under the Argentine. He has got Chelsea to really perform in their big games this term.
However, what he is probably going to be judged on is whether he can turn this team into one capable of challenging for Champions League qualification this season.
If he cannot, which has been the case so far, then the former Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham Hotspur manager could soon find himself in big trouble.
If anyone is to blame for the Newcastle defeat, though, then it is the players, who now look set to be punished by their manager.
