‘Smart’: Antonio Valencia absolutely loves one Chelsea player after watching him train recently

Former Manchester United defender Antonio Valencia has been left really impressed recently by one Chelsea youngster.

He told Ole that he is a massive fan of Kendry Paez, after having the opportunity to watch him train.

Paez will not be joining up with the Blues until 2025, however there is already so much excitement over what he is going to bring when he arrives.

He has become a regular for Ecuador earlier, starting his fourth successive game last night.

The World Cup qualifier finished goalless, with Moises Caicedo, his future Chelsea teammate, being the standout performer.

Valencia has tipped Paez for a very promising future though, saying he is dealing with the pressure put on him excellently.

Paez tipped for greatness by Valencia

He said: “I had the opportunity to see Páez in training and matches. I think he is smart, his level is getting better and better.

“He has to keep enjoying it because he is only 16 years old. He has that responsibility, but he doesn’t let the shirt weigh on him. Recently he scored a great goal against Bolivia.

“He has performed well in the national team. It is a serious prospect that is improving. He plays in one of the best teams in Ecuador, Independiente, and they are taking care of him.

“I know that the people around him are very good and are going in the right direction. He has to continue to be humble and keep thinking about raising his level.”

Many in the game have already tipped Paez for greatness, with one journalist saying he has more potential than Jude Bellingham.

While he can’t join up with the Blues for just over a year, it won’t take long for him to make his impact at Stamford Bridge.
