Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino thinks his side now have a player like Angel Di Maria.
Chelsea have a lot of attacking quality, which includes the likes of Raheem Sterling and Mykhailo Mudryk.
And Mauricio Pochettino, speaking to the Evening Standard and other outlets, has now compared one of his stars, Cole Palmer, to Argentina legend Angel Di Maria.
Palmer has been in fine form for Chelsea this season following his £40m move from Manchester City (Sky Sports). In eight Premier League appearances, he has scored three goals and provided two assists.

Pochettino feels Palmer is more like Di Maria than former Chelsea playmaker Juan Mata and Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp, whom he has also been compared to.
Discussing the 21-year-old in his recent pre-match press conference, the Argentine told the Evening Standard and rest of the media: “Juan Mata? No, he is more Di Maria! You know, the body and the way he moves.”

Palmer has a long way to go before he can match Di Maria’s accomplishments in the game, but you can see where Pochettino is coming from here.
They are both left-footed players who can cut in from the right-hand side and are capable of being playmakers.
Honestly, it is quite high praise for Palmer when you consider Di Maria’s skill and what he has won in his career.
Hopefully Palmer can live up to such a lofty comparison when Chelsea take on his former club City later today.
And if the attacker does, maybe he can win a call-up to the England squad after Tottenham Hotspur’s James Maddison had to withdraw because of injury.
With the way Palmer has played since arriving at Chelsea, it would be well deserved. However, you suspect Gareth Southgate may just go with the options he has got or turn to Palmer’s Chelsea team-mate Sterling instead after his latest omission.
