'I thought': Rob Edwards now shares how he really feels about Noni Madueke's goal for Chelsea yesterday
Luton Town manager Rob Edwards has been speaking about Noni Madueke’s goal for Chelsea against his side yesterday.
Chelsea beat Luton 3-2 in an exciting Premier League clash at Kenilworth Road, with Noni Madueke putting the Blues 2-0 up with a brilliant strike.
It was a goal that impressed Rob Edwards, who discussed it in his post-match press conference, which was shared by talkSPORT.
Madueke’s strike against Luton means he has now scored in successive matches after his penalty versus Crystal Palace earlier in the week.
The 21-year-old has not played too much this season, which has left him feeling disappointed, according to Mauricio Pochettino.
Rob Edwards impressed by Noni Madueke
Edwards has described Madueke’s goal as “brilliant”.
On the Chelsea winger’s strike, he said: “We gifted them the first goal, which is then a challenge. Second goal I thought was brilliant skill, Noni Madueke. It’s a brilliant goal, which we knew.
“We respected their quality. We knew they had that, individuals, that front four is electric and can be when they’re… even in moments, even if they’re not at it consistently throughout the game.”

Noni Madueke starting to turn season around
Before yesterday’s game against Luton, Madueke had only made one start in the Premier League.
The England U21 international did not really look to be part of Pochettino’s plans. He was being linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge.
However, Madueke has shown his value over these last couple of matches and that he could be an important player for the club in this second part of the season.
Right now, Chelsea have quite a few quality attacking options, including the likes of Cole Palmer and Raheem Sterling. It is why Madueke has not had too many opportunities under Pochettino in the current campaign. But if the former PSV Eindhoven man keeps playing like this, then that will have to change.
