'That run to continue': Chris Sutton predicts the score ahead of Everton vs Chelsea on Sunday

Chris Sutton has predicted the score ahead of Everton against Chelsea on Sunday afternoon.

Everton host Chelsea at Goodison Park tomorrow in the Premier League, which is yet another really important fixture for both sides.

Sean Dyche’s side are fresh off back-to-back wins over Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest, so they’re outside the relegation zone and climbing the table.

Meanwhile, Mauricio Pochettino’s Blues team need to respond to a very disappointing loss to Manchester United in midweek. It leaves them stranded 10th in the table right now.

Score prediction

BBC pundit Sutton has made his score prediction for the weekend showdown, tipping the sides to record a score draw.

Remarkably, it would keep Chelsea’s run going of not losing back-to-back matches yet this season.

“What a job Sean Dyche is doing at Everton. His side are out of the relegation zone after beating Newcastle on Thursday, and they would be above Chelsea if not for their 10-point deduction,” Sutton told BBC Sport.

“The challenge for Everton here is similar to the one Aston Villa face against Arsenal – they need to follow up an impressive performance in midweek – but which Chelsea will turn up to try and stop them?

“Mauricio Pochettino’s side were all over the place against Manchester United, but at least they carried a threat despite losing that game.

“I don’t mind admitting I don’t have a clue what to expect from Chelsea here, but they actually haven’t lost two consecutive games all season, so I might as well go for that run to continue.

“Sutton’s prediction: 1-1.”

Elsewhere, speaking via Sportskeeda, Paul Merson has predicted a comfortable win for Everton over Chelsea.

Everton vs Chelsea

We make Everton slight favourites tomorrow to beat Chelsea, especially because they’re playing at home.

However, Pochettino has previously won seven of his 11 meetings against Dyche as a manager. He’s only lost once, too.

Let’s wait and see what kind of Chelsea turn up this weekend.
