'Great': Raheem Sterling really impressed by 21-year-old Chelsea player's passing vs Fulham

Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling has been praising his team-mate Cole Palmer following their side’s 1-0 victory against Fulham at the weekend.

Cole Palmer scored a first-half penalty to win Chelsea the game, but his coolness from the spot was not the only thing that impressed Raheem Sterling.

Speaking to the Blues’ official website after the match, the 29-year-old also praised his team-mate for his final pass.

It was Palmer who played the ball into Sterling who won the penalty before the 21-year-old dispatched it.

Discussing the penalty he won against Fulham and Palmer’s involvement in it, Sterling said: “It’s about quick feet and sharp turns, sometimes defenders dangle legs out and that’s what he did there. I was happy because sometimes I haven’t been given some that were clear, but I’m glad that the ref gave that one yesterday.

“Cole dispatched it brilliantly and we got the three points. He gets in positions really well and he can see that final pass into the box, that was a great pass.”

Cole Palmer Chelsea’s most creative player

Right now, Palmer is the individual who is making things happen for Chelsea.

The England international has provided four assists in the Premier League this season — no player in Mauricio Pochettino‘s squad has made more.

Palmer also has the highest average for key passes per game among the Chelsea roster, 1.6 (WhoScored).

It has been a really bright campaign for the former Manchester City star, who Micah Richards has actually compared to Kevin De Bruyne.

If all of Chelsea’s recent signings were capable of making the sort of impact Palmer has made since arriving at Stamford Bridge, Pochettino’s side would be in the top four instead of fighting to stay in the top half of the table.

Coming up with 13 goal contributions in 17 top-flight appearances, Palmer’s influence has been there for everyone to see and hopefully it increases further.
