‘Has to start’… Chelsea fans urge Mauricio Pochettino has to pick 23-year-old vs Middlesbrough
Chelsea fans on social media are rallying together to insist Mykhailo Mudryk starts tonight against Middlesbrough.
Chelsea host Championship club Middlesbrough on Tuesday evening in a huge match.
The Blues face Boro at Stamford Bridge later on in the Carabao Cup second leg, but they’ll have to overturn a one-goal deficit after a defeat in the first leg.
This certainly feels like a definitive game in the team’s season!

We’ll be intrigued to see if Mykhailo Mudryk does get the nod to start tonight.
Remarkably, he’s only started one of Chelsea’s last four matches across all competitions. This has included being an unused substitute in the previous two Premier League fixtures.
It’s obvious that the 23-year-old winger has fallen down the pecking order under Mauricio Pochettino, but we think he’s looked pretty sharp in recent times whenever he’s on the pitch.
The Ukrainian speedster lifts the crowd off their seat with his pace and directness. He’s still a raw talent that is trying to knit everything together, though.
Aside from Cole Palmer, we don’t see any other Chelsea attacker really putting their hand up to a cement a spot in the starting line-up.
Speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast last month, Gary Lineker claimed he’s starting to see things from Mudryk on the pitch that he really likes.
It would be a huge opportunity if he’s recalled to the side in a cup semi-final.
Mykhailo Mudryk should start against Middlesbrough
Some Chelsea fans on X are desperately urging Pochettino to put Mudryk into the starting XI versus Boro.
One fan said: “Mudryk is a non negotiable, he has to start…”
Another claimed: “I don’t care what you have to say but please start Mudryk tomorrow.”
A third posted: “There’s no reason Mudryk can’t start tomorrow.”
Another said: “Start Mudryk tomorrow on left wing not Chilwell.”
A fifth wrote: “Mudryk must start.”
Another said: “Think Mudryk should start.”
