‘How is he not there?’: Jamie O’Hara confused that 43-year-old is not currently a coach at Chelsea

Jamie O’Hara has now claimed that he is confused as to why one figure is not currently part of Mauricio Pochettino’s coaching staff at Chelsea.

He told TalkSPORT that he is stunned the Blues have not appointed John Terry to work alongside those in charge at Stamford Bridge right now.

Pressure on Pochettino continued to rise after last night’s damning defeat in the first leg of the EFL Cup semi-final.

The Blues were beaten 1-0 away at Middlesbrough, and have left themselves quite the task when it comes to the second leg at Stamford Bridge.

A number of key figures in the media were quick to give their thoughts on the result, with Chelsea legend Terry one of those who quickly took to social media to share his frustration from the game.

One point that O’Hara was quick to jump on was the lack of a real Chelsea figure in the dressing room, and asked the question as to why Terry has not yet been given that responsibility.

He said: “Why is John Terry not there? Why is he not in the dugout every single game? He’s the best captain Chelsea have ever had. He watches every game. How is he not there at half-time, saying [to the players], ‘are you winding me up?'”

Pochettino is certainly going to need to find a way to turn this tie around when they return to Stamford Bridge in the coming weeks, before the pressure rises to a point that is not easy to ignore anymore.

Last season when Graham Potter was sacked, the owners looked to a club legend to steady the ship for the rest of the season in Frank Lampard, and there is no guarantees they wouldn’t consider the same with Terry if the situation arises.
