‘Makes no sense’: Fabrizio Romano can’t believe what he’s just heard about Chelsea and Victor Osimhen

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that he has just heard something that doesn’t make any sense to him regarding Chelsea’s interest in signing Victor Osimhen.

He took to YouTube to state that despite rumours elsewhere, the two clubs are not discussing any sort of deal where a signing for the end of the season would be discussed now.

Osimhen is clearly at the top of the list for the Blues as far as candidates for striker signings go right now.

However, it is becoming increasingly obvious that the deal is simply not possible this month, off the back of his recent new contract with the Serie A club.

Instead, reports began to suggest that Chelsea may look to complete a deal that will see them agree a fee for the player now, however not pay until the next window.

They recently pulled this off with the addition of Christopher Nkunku, who was reported to have made everything official with the Blues just days after the missed out on him in the summer window.

However, Romano has claimed that there is at the moment no talk of this happening between the Blues and Osimhen.

He said: “No pre agreement with Napoli or player side for Victor Osimhen has happened this month, I don’t know where these rumours are coming from but I would say at this point makes no sense.”

With us now being more than halfway through the January transfer window and the Blues not really in negotiations for anyone to play the number nine role, it looks as if they may be finishing the season with what they’ve already got.

This will therefore see a need for the likes of Armando Broja and Nicolas Jackson to step up and begin to find the net on a more regular basis in the coming months.
