‘They want to’: Todd Boehly now personally wants Chelsea to sign £120m player in January - journalist
Journalist Simon Phillips has now claimed that Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has one signing in mind for January.
He claimed on his Substack that the owner’s dream addition to the squad this month would be Victor Osimhen from Napoli.
It is no secret that Chelsea are keen to bring in a striker, with the transfer window having just opened again.

Another summer of big spending has left the Blues likely needing to sell this month if they are to make any significant signings.
A number of big-name players are linked with an exit though. Conor Gallagher, Ian Maatsen and Trevoh Chalobah could all be on the move if the right offer comes in for them.
With there being an importance on signing the perfect profile as far as a number nine goes, Osimhen has been frequently reported to be one of the top candidates.
However, his recently signed new contract means a release clause in the region of £120m would need to be activated.
Boehly wants Osimhen
Phillips has claimed that although the owner recognises the difficulties of doing a deal this month, it is certainly still his dream.
He said: “The Chelsea hierarchy want to sign Victor Osimhen, he has been the dream target since last summer and that remains the case now.
“He’s the main target as far as the likes of Behdad Eghbali and Todd Boehly are concerned – they want to bring him in and I believe they will at least enquire to see if it is possible, if they haven’t already.
“However, we all know the issue and stumbling block here – Osimhen has just signed a new contract and knowing Napoli President Aurelio de Laurentiis, I’d be shocked if the new release clause is available to activate in January (info has been coy on this so far).
“So that means Chelsea would have to wait until the summer, and sources believe other clubs such as Real Madrid will also be in for Osimhen then.”
It does feel as if any move for the Nigerian international will likely have to wait until the end of the season.
