Chelsea considering doing u-turn and keeping ‘fantastic’ player this summer – journalist

Chelsea have to act quickly this week if they are to get some of the sales they are hoping to do so over the line this summer.

With the deadline for the transfer window coming on Friday, it has been reported that Chelsea still want to facilitate 12 exits this week.

It looks as if they are going to be saying goodbye to Romelu Lukaku at last, with his move to Napoli just awaiting official confirmation.

They have also already managed to complete the sale of Conor Gallagher, with Joao Felix returning to Chelsea as a result.

One player who looked destined for a move away was Trevoh Chalobah, after he was left off the pre-season tour of the United States.

Trevoh Chalobah could now stay at Chelsea

Chalobah’s contract has allowed him to be picky about a departure, and he has so far not got close to joining another side.

Now, there is actually a future that sees him remain at Stamford Bridge. According to Rahman Osman, the way Chalobah has dealt with things has impressed people at the club.

He said: “Trevoh Chalobah could still leave Chelsea before close of the window but told he’s impressed many within the club with how he’s handled everything that has been thrown at him. So much so that Chelsea could listen to offers for Disasi instead.”

Newcastle interested in Axel Disasi

Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Axel Disasi, and the Frenchman’s future at the club does not look bright at this stage.

He has not been named in a matchday squad for a Premier League game as of yet, with the same back two starting both matches so far.

Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana seem to be the preferred duo at the back at the moment, however their injury records suggest having adequate cover at the club is a necessity.

As shown late last season, there are perhaps not many better options available than Chalobah.
