Report: Chelsea make first official offer for ‘world-class’ striker, they’re favourites for the deal
Chelsea have just a couple of days left of the summer transfer window to try and make any late signings to bolster their first-team squad.
It is widely believed that a striker is high on the agenda for the Blues, barring that they can get a deal done on their own terms.
There are seemingly four strikers on Chelsea’s list of potential additions, with them yesterday being linked again with a move for Ivan Toney.
The England international has been mentioned as an option who could be available on lower wages than some of their other targets.
One of those who is still looking like a big money signing is Victor Osimhen, with the salary he is paid as part of his new Napoli contract way out of Chelsea’s new wage structure.

Chelsea make official offer to Victor Osimhen
This hasn’t seemed to deter their interest though, and according to Di Marzio, the Blues have made their first official offer for the striker and presented it to his camp.
It remains to be seen if this is suitable for the Nigerian international, with that likely to be the catalyst for Chelsea and Napoli to enter serious conversations in the final few days of the transfer window.
There is no doubting that Osimhen has proven himself to be one of the best strikers in world football. Former Blues boss Jose Mourinho has previously described him as ‘world-class’.
Nicolas Jackson could be replaced
Of course, a big name signing will be under immediate pressure to deliver in front of goal, especially as he will be replacing an impressive performer in his own right in the form of Nicolas Jackson.
A really strong start to life in England since his move from Villarreal doesn’t seem to have been quite enough for the forward to prove he should be far and away the first option to play up front, with Osimhen clearly likely to come in as the new number nine at Stamford Bridge.
