Fabrizio Romano says Chelsea have four names on the list for potential strikers to sign by Friday

It is likely going to come down to the final moments of the summer transfer window to see if Chelsea make a move for a new striker or not.

A number of names have been linked with the switch to Stamford Bridge, with the main culprit in recent weeks being Victor Osimhen.

The Nigerian international has been a target for Chelsea for well over a year now, however it looks as if he is desperate to leave Napoli this summer.

The desire for the Blues to get that deal done or their own terms seems to be holding back any real progress, and has seen other names mentioned as potential targets.

One of those is Ivan Toney, who the club reportedly made a move for yesterday in an attempt to stop him heading to Saudi Arabia.

Chelsea considering four striker options

However, Fabrizio Romano has stated that there are actually four names on the list for the Blues, with Osimhen heading up the list.

He said: “Chelsea and Al Ahli are still the only clubs in talks for Victor Osimhen. PSG NOT working on it.

“Chelsea are talking to Osimhen’s camp as main option on four-players list. Victor doesn’t plan to reduce his salary. Al Ahli are ready if Chelsea deal doesn’t happen.”

Chelsea still considering Jhon Duran

While it is not yet clear who a couple of the names Chelsea are considering are, it can be expected that Jhon Duran is still on the list.

Duran to Chelsea was tipped as one that had potential still in the late stages of the transfer window, especially if they didn’t sign Osimhen as some would have expected.

From the known options, it feels like Toney is the only one who will bring a guarantee of being able to score regular Premier League goals, as well as being able to fit into Enzo Maresca’s system well.
