Mario Melchiot shares the one signing he wants Chelsea to make before transfer deadline day
Chelsea’s business looks far from over when it comes to this summer’s transfer window.
After a laboured start, it looked as if a deal was going to be struck to sign Samu Omorodion. However, that deal fell through late on.
It has been claimed they have turned their attention to the addition of Joao Felix, with it being reported that a signing from Atletico Madrid was required in order to facilitate a move for Conor Gallagher to go the other way.
With just two weeks left in the window, Enzo Maresca will likely be hoping any remaining business gets completed swiftly as he focuses on his first campaign as a Premier League manager.
Former Chelsea star Mario Melchiot has now had his say on what he believes the club need to do this summer.

Melchiot tells Chelsea to sign a striker
Talking to TalkSPORT (13/08 8:11am), he believes proper competition for Nicolas Jackson is exactly what they need to move to the next level.
He said: “I think they have to bring in a competition because you want Jackson to face the competition so that the best and the most scoring player will play in the game. Healthy competition is never a bad thing. Look at City. How many competition they have in the team and they keep on building.”
Chelsea interested in Victor Osimhen
Links have refused to go away that they could be interested in finalising a deal to sign Victor Osimhen, with him being a target for way over a year now.
There is certainly potential to explore something with Napoli due to their desire to bring in Romelu Lukaku, however as of yet both sides are yet to come to any form of agreement.
Chelsea fans will likely point to Marc Guiu as an option who can provide immediate competition to Jackson, with him starting nearly every game of pre-season.
The youngster seems to have got to grips with things very quickly with the Blues, and looks too talented to be loaned out this season.
