'One of the best': Wolves boss Gary O'Neil hails Chelsea player with 'explosive pace' ahead of Sunday's match
Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Gary O’Neil has singled out one Chelsea player for special praise before this Sunday’s match.
Chelsea travel to Wolves tomorrow afternoon in the Premier League, where both teams go in search of their first points of the season after defeats on the opening weekend.
The Blues should be wary of this upcoming fixture because Wolves did the league double over them last season. Admittedly, Chelsea they now have a new individual in the manager’s dugout in the shape of Enzo Maresca.
Speaking via Sportskeeda recently, Paul Merson predicts a draw between Wolves and Chelsea.

Gary O’Neil hails Chelsea signing Pedro Neto
Wolves manager Gary O’Neil has raved about the quality of Chelsea’s summer signing Pedro Neto in the build up to Sunday’s match. Of course, he knows the 24-year-old winger very well after coaching him last season at Wolves.
Neto enjoyed an impressive five-year spell as a Wolves player before this month’s transfer to Stamford Bridge. He’ll surely be fired up to face his former club on Sunday.
When discussing Neto’s ability, O’Neil said via BBC Sport: “He can definitely play at any club in world football. His talent, work ethic and physical attributes allow him to play at whatever level he wants.
“He is one of the best out-and-out wide players in world football. What he can do one-v-one, his explosive pace, what he can do when he arrives there, it allows him to do things not many players can do. It was an emotional goodbye.”
Will Pedro Neto start against Wolves?
Neto made his Chelsea debut with a cameo appearance last weekend in the league defeat to Manchester City. Afterwards, he made his first start on Thursday night and played just under an hour in the Conference League play-off tie versus Servette.
So, will he be named in the starting line-up for the trip to Molineux Stadium?
Speaking via Football.London in his pre-match press conference, Maresca suggested Neto is unlikely to start at Wolves, largely because he’s still building up his fitness.
As mentioned above by O’Neil, Neto is clearly an outrageous talent and has the potential to really impact the Chelsea line-up once he’s fit and firing at his best. It sounds like it may take a bit of time to see him really flourish, though.
His pace and skill is going to be very exciting for the Blues fans to enjoy going forward.
