Pedro Neto’s immediate reaction to seeing Joao Felix after his move to Chelsea was confirmed

Chelsea completed the permanent signing of Joao Felix from Atletico Madrid on Wednesday, and he’s walking into a dressing room with several familiar faces.

Joao Felix, 24, is back at Stamford Bridge permanently after previously spending a loan spell with the Blues in 2023. Meanwhile, Conor Gallagher has gone in the opposite direction and officially joined Atletico Madrid.

Felix now has a new home after spending the last 18 months out on loan, first at Chelsea and then at Barcelona. Let’s hope that the Portuguese attacker can end up fulfilling his potential in West London.

Speaking via Football.London yesterday, Blues head coach Enzo Maresca said Felix is a talented player. It’s going to be interesting to see where the versatile forward fits into his system, whether that’s as a central playmaker or a winger.

Pedro Neto reacts to Joao Felix arrival

As well as rejoining some previous Chelsea teammates, Felix is also linking up with international colleague Pedro Neto this season.

The club has shared on its official YouTube channel the pair’s first reunion at Cobham on Wednesday after the transfer was confirmed.

Neto jokingly said before hugging Felix: “This guy, I don’t like to see this guy anymore. I was sick of this guy. I can only be with him for two weeks.

“No it’s really good, really good to see this guy. What a player and what a guy as well.”

One way Chelsea could look in attack

There’s so many quality options now in Chelsea’s ranks, so it’ll be up to Maresca to find the best formula for each individual match.

Here below is a look at one way the Blues could shape up if they want to go all-out attacking with lots of flair…

Goalkeeper
Defence
Midfield
Cole Palmer Joao Felix Pedro Neto
Christopher Nkunku

Maresca’s going to have a headache long-term finding his best team, but there’s hopefully going to plenty of fixtures to rotate with domestic and European matches. First up, the Blues have to get through a Conference League play-off tie against Servette, with the first leg on Thursday night.
