Report: What Chelsea plan to do with Nicolas Jackson if they sign Victor Osimhen and £40m striker

Chelsea could sign two strikers before the transfer window closes, which may worry Nicolas Jackson.

Nicolas Jackson was Chelsea‘s first-choice centre-forward last season, making 44 appearances under former manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The Blues are now being heavily linked with a couple of other strikers, including Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, and have already signed Marc Guiu from Barcelona.

However, it does not look like Jackson has to be too worried about his game time potentially decreasing in the new season.

Jackson has just returned to Chelsea training after recovering from an injury and will be hoping to get some minutes when his side take on Real Madrid on Wednesday at midnight.

Chelsea’s plan for Nicolas Jackson

With the transfer market still open, there is a chance that Chelsea sign Osimhen and Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion to strengthen the striker position.

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea could bring in both players, with the latter expected to cost £40m.

In theory, that would limit Jackson’s playing time, but the same outlet claims that there is a belief at Chelsea that the 23-year-old can also be deployed on the left.

If the Blues are successful in their pursuits of Osimhen and Omorodion, then Enzo Maresca could utilise Jackson there during the 2024/25 campaign.

Nicolas Jackson and Samu Omorodion likely to be Chelsea’s two main strikers

Most Chelsea fans would love for Osimhen to join the club. The 25-year-old is one of the best centre-forwards in the world, scoring nearly 50 goals over the last two seasons combined.

But it really would be a bit of a surprise if the Blues ended up with both him and Omorodion. And at £40m, the latter is the more attainable forward.

Therefore, you would expect Jackson and Omorodion to be the first and second-choice strikers at Stamford Bridge in the new season.

Some Chelsea supporters aren’t happy about the club’s interest in Omorodion, though, so the Spain U21 international could have some convincing to do.
