Chelsea loan watch: How every Blues loanee is performing in 2024/25 season

Chelsea have a number of players out on loan in the 2024/25 season. Here we outline how each of them is getting on.

The Blues have been known to stockpile players for a while now and the current situation is no different.

The West London club have multiple players in every position so there is not room for everyone in Enzo Maresca’s first-team squad.

While many will continue their development in the academy, others will get a taste of senior football on loan at other teams.

The Chelsea Chronicle looks at how each of the Blues’ loanees are performing this season.

Chelsea players on loan 2024/25

Aaron Anselmino

Aaron Anselmino signed for Chelsea this summer in a £15.6 million deal from Boca Juniors. The central defender returned to the Argentine club on a season-long loan deal.

He missed a number of games in July and August through a hamstring injury but has been integral to the team since his recovery.

Alfie Gilchrist

Alfie Gilchrist has played in all six of Sheffield United’s Championship fixtures in the 2024/25 season. He is naturally a centre-back but has looked comfortable at right-back for the Blades.

Andrey Santos

Andrey Santos is arguably having the best season of any of Chelsea’s loanees. The midfielder has scored three goals in four games for Strasbourg.

He was named the Ligue 1 Young Player of the Month for August and some might say he is already good enough to feature in the Blues’ first team.

Eddie Beach

Eddie Beach’s only appearance for Crawley Town to date came in the EFL Trophy against Brighton under-21s, which they won on penalties.

Gabriel Slonina

Promising goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina has been one of Barnsley’s best players this season. He has played nine times and kept two clean sheets – against Crawley Town and Sheffield United.

He played against Manchester United at Old Trafford in the EFL Cup third round but they lost 7-0 to a strong Red Devils side.

Kepa Arrizabalaga

Kepa Arrizabalaga conceded two goals on his Bournemouth debut against Everton but they won the Premier League match 3-2.

He could not play against Chelsea as the Cherries lost 1-0 due to Christopher Nkunku’s late winner.

Lesley Ugochukwu

Lesley Ugochukwu was superb on his Southampton debut in their 5-3 EFL Cup second-round win over Cardiff City.

He has also impressed in the Premier League, against Manchester United and Ipswich, and could be an important player for Russell Martin’s side as they look to avoid relegation.

He made his Gunners debut against Tottenham in the North London derby and also featured against Atalanta in the Champions League.
