'Unbelievable': Noni Madueke claims 'lightning' £54m Chelsea teammate is such a good player

Chelsea’s Noni Madueke has just delivered a glowing verdict on a Blues teammate he thinks is “lightning” fast on the football pitch.

There’s no doubt that there’s several speedsters in the current Chelsea squad, including Noni Madueke himself.

Madueke, 22, is one of the Blues players flying in the early weeks of the season. The attacker’s scored four goals in four matches at club level, plus he made his senior England debut during the international break.

When discussing the attacker’s impact recently via Chelsea’s official website, Enzo Maresca has urged Madueke to stay grounded after his run of excellent form on the right wing.

Noni Madueke blown away by Pedro Neto

Madueke has given huge praise to teammate Pedro Neto, who joined Chelsea in the summer in a £54m deal (BBC).

Neto is a versatile forward that can operate on either flank. There’s no doubt that the 24-year-old summer signing has injected even more pace and directness to the side at Stamford Bridge.

When discussing Chelsea star Neto, Madueke told Sky Sports Premier League: “Pedro is like lightning in transition. If there’s open space, he’s unbelievable. He’s got a nice final ball as well. He’s a good player.”

Interestingly, we think there may be a long-term battle between Madueke and Neto at Chelsea.

The aforementioned duo can fit into the same starting line-up, something we’ve already seen under Maresca. Madueke’s minutes are commonly coming from the right wing, while Neto has operated from the left.

However, we feel like both individuals are at their fluent best as a right-winger, where they can cut infield on their stronger left foot.

It’s a nice problem for Chelsea boss Maresca to have because he’s suddenly got some high quality options in the front positions, but it’ll mean some high-profile stars are disappointed each game when they’re named on the bench.
