‘He should’: Frank Lampard thinks Enzo Maresca has to start ‘fabulous’ Chelsea player in next game
Chelsea fell short in their second big test of the season as they were defeated 2-1 at Anfield by league leaders Liverpool.
Despite Nicolas Jackson’s first goal against the Reds, they were unable to hold on to the 1-1 scoreline for more than a few minutes as they lost for just the second time this season.
Enzo Maresca insisted he was still impressed with what he had seen from his players, who went into the game without a number of key players.
Wesley Fofana and Marc Cucurella were both suspended, and starters Reece James and Romeo Lavia impressed, but had their minutes managed after long-term injuries.
Maresca looked to his bench very early in the second half with a triple change, after bringing Pedro Neto on at half-time for Jadon Sancho.

Frank Lampard says Pedro Neto has to start for Chelsea
The Manchester United loanee will feel as if he should have had a penalty in the first half, however was ultimately not at the levels he reached in his first few games of his career at Stamford Bridge.
Neto meanwhile impressed in the second half, with his more direct approach making a real impact on both wings.
Chelsea legend Frank Lampard now believes he has pushed himself into a position where he should start their next game.
He said to the Premier League’s official website: “Pedro Neto came on and added a lot, he has probably pushed himself into a big chance of starting the next game. I think he should.”
Neto likely to start in Conference League
After joining for big money in the summer, plenty was expected from the Portugal international if he could stay fit. Tony Cascarino described him as ‘fabulous’.
Neto was likely to be in the plans to start when the Blues make the trip across Europe for the Conference League game on Thursday.
However, it is Premier League starts he is no doubt keen to nail down, and is certainly in the conversation for the nod when Newcastle visit West London on Sunday.
