Predicted XI vs Panathinaikos: ‘Unlucky’ Chelsea player gets chance to prove himself as a starter
Enzo Maresca will be given another chance to take a look at his squad as a whole when Chelsea return to Conference League action on Thursday.
The Blues will be taking on Panathinaikos away from home, as they look to maintain their 100% record in the competition so far.
Despite a number of strong performances against Gent, no one has yet been able to force themselves into Maresca’s regular Premier League starting XI.

Another chance arrives on Thursday though, and here is The Chelsea Chronicle’s predicted side to face Panathinaikos.

Chelsea predicted XI vs Panathinaikos
After a poor performance from Robert Sanchez against Liverpool, Filip Jorgensen has the chance to prove himself in the Conference League. This is providing Jorgensen has shaken off the effects of an ‘unlucky’ injury suffered on international duty.
With Josh Acheampong’s recent Chelsea exclusion from first-team duty, Axel Disasi will start again in the unfamiliar right-back role.
Tosin Adarabioyo will remain in the starting side, with Wesley Fofana not included in the squad for the group stages of this competition.
He will be joined at the back by Benoit Badiashile, who impressed off the bench at Anfield on Sunday.
At left-back, Renato Veiga will continue his run of featuring in all of the cup games so far.
One of Maresca’s favourite players, Kiernan Dewbsury-Hall, will be looking to keep up his strong form in Europe.
Enzo Fernandez to make first appearance in Conference League

He will be joined in the middle of the park by Enzo Fernandez, who will captain the side. He was dropped in favour of Romeo Lavia for the defeat to Liverpool.
Pedro Neto is knocking on the door for a start in the Premier League and will feature on the right against the Greek opposition.
On the opposite wing, Mykhailo Mudryk will look to take his chance and leave an impression on a manager who has been critical of him this season.
Joao Felix was an unused substitute against Liverpool, but will start for the Blues in Greece.
Up front, Christopher Nkunku will look to continue to pile the pressure on Nicolas Jackson with another strong performance up front.
Predicted XI: Jorgensen; Disasi, Tosin, Badiashile, Veiga; Fernandez, Dewsbury-Hall; Neto, Felix, Mudryk; Nkunku
