'We're going to': Enzo Maresca shares his interesting Chelsea plan to face Liverpool
Enzo Maresca has started to find a rhythm at Chelsea in the Premier League, and he’s already shared an insight into how the Blues will face up against Liverpool.
Chelsea will have been disappointed not to pick up all three points prior to the international break against Nottingham Forest, as they had multiple chances at the end to win it.
Enzo Maresca really has transformed things at Chelsea, which is something Paul Winstanley mentioned recently as he praised the Blues boss for his start to life at Stamford Bridge.
It’s far from the finished product yet, but he’s already been able to get a tune out of Jadon Sancho and Noni Madueke, who were both struggling players last season.
However, it’s Cole Palmer who he’ll be relying on to deliver the goods this weekend after his incredible start to the season, with six goals and five assists in seven games.
Ahead of the Liverpool clash this weekend, Enzo Maresca has shed some light on how his side will approach the game at Anfield.

Enzo Maresca shares insight into how Chelsea will play against Liverpool
Maresca’s approach has served them right in recent weeks, with goals coming from left, right, and centre.
But the most pleasing part will be on the defensive end, as the Blues have conceded just eight, which isn’t bad when you consider the fact that two of these were against Manchester City.
Regardless, Liverpool are next on the agenda and are the only unbeaten team remaining in the Premier League.
Enzo Maresca was speaking to Adam Carruthers on the Stadium Astro YouTube channel ahead of this weekend’s clash, and he shed some light on how his Blues side will shape up.
“Absolutely. As you said it’s a nice environment. Anfield is fantastic, but we’re going to try and go there, play our football and try to get points.”
He was then asked.
“You don’t let others dictate how you play, you play how you want to play?”
Maresca replied:
“We try always. As I said sometimes we plan the game but also the other team plan the game, so sometimes you struggle a little bit more, sometimes not. But in the end it’s important.
“The intention of the team has to be the same.”
Fight fire with fire against Liverpool
Liverpool are known for their fast-paced passing game under Arne Slot, and some of their forwards have already fired on multiple occasions this season.
This could be a very high scoring game if both teams play their usual attacking style of play, with some of the best attackers in world football on display.
Enzo Maresca has stated that he could swap Cole Palmer’s position around due to his versatility, so it’ll be interesting to see where he starts against Liverpool.
However, it’s important Maresca doesn’t mess him around as he’s been ruthless in more central role.
