Argentine media share how everything changed at half-time for Enzo Fernandez after assist for his country
Enzo Fernandez was looking to keep up his impressive run of cameos last night when he made the switch from Chelsea action to representing Argentina.
The World Cup winners tasted defeat on the road against Paraguay, losing 2-1 after leading by a goal.
The strike was set up by Fernandez, whose brilliantly dinked ball was given the finish it deserved by Lautaro Martinez.

However, the turnaround brought a damning result to the door of the Argentines, who are certainly not used to losing right now.
Fernandez will at least be pleased that he picked up his fifth assist in just three appearances for club and country. The two Chelsea performances only lasted for a combined roughly 70 minutes.
Argentine media say Enzo Fernandez dropped off in second half vs Paraguay
However, he didn’t have everything his own way last night. In the player ratings by TyC Sports, they state that his performance levels really tailed off when the game entered the second half.
They said: “Enzo Fernandez – 5. The best in the first half. Huge assist to Lautaro for the 1-0, then gave fluid circulation to the game. It deflated in the complement.”
Fernandez is looking to prove a point while representing his country that he should be the first name back on the teamsheet for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Fernandez replaced at Chelsea by Romeo Lavia
The former club-record signing has not been named in the starting side for the past few weeks, with Romeo Lavia being selected ahead of him to partner Moises Caicedo.
Darren Bent says he likes the look of Lavia and Caicedo complimenting each other. However, there is of course no doubt in the qualify for Fernandez when he is fit and firing on all cylinders.
The midfielder will be looking to continue where he left off from in the first half at least when Argentina are back in action against Peru in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Enzo Maresca will be hoping the late kick-off time does not have an effect on him by the time the Premier League returns the next weekend, with him taking on former side Leicester City next.
