'It would be': Romeo Lavia names the Chelsea legend he'd most like to play with
Romeo Lavia has had some tough times because of injury since his move to Chelsea in the summer of 2023, but he’s starting to show everyone this season his incredible ability.
At the age of 20, Romeo Lavia is one of the many talented youngsters in the Chelsea squad right now.
Barcelona have registered an interest in signing Chelsea’s Lavia, but there ‘no chance’ that he’ll be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge. Hopefully, the Belgian defensive midfielder can enjoy a long and successful career in west London.

Romeo Lavia would love to play with Chelsea legend Eden Hazard
Lavia has admitted that Chelsea great Eden Hazard is the former Blues star he’d have loved the opportunity to share the football pitch with.
Hazard, who retired in 2023, enjoyed a brilliant career as a skilful attacker who got supporters off their seats. During seven years at Stamford Bridge between 2012-2019, the Belgian superstar scored 110 goals in 352 Blues appearances to help win six major trophies.
When asked to pick one former Chelsea player to play alongside, Lavia told Instagram: “If I had to pick one it would be Eden Hazard.”
Similarly, Chelsea’s Cole Palmer admitted he’d love to play with Hazard, someone who dazzles on the pitch like him.
Hazard is widely loved in the football community for his unreal talent. For the Blues, he’s gone down in their history as a Chelsea legend and one of the most gifted footballers to put on the shirt.
Here is a look at Hazard’s career record for club and country:
| Team | Appearances | Goals | Assists | Trophies |
| Chelsea | 352 | 110 | 85 | 6 |
| Lille | 194 | 50 | 53 | 2 |
| Real Madrid | 76 | 7 | 12 | 6 |
| Belgium | 126 | 33 | 36 | 0 |
Eden Hazard played a role in Romeo Lavia joining Chelsea
Lavia may not have enjoyed the privilege of playing with fellow countryman Hazard, but it turns out he’s part of the reason why he left Southampton and ended up in Chelsea colours.
Hazard told Lavia to sign for Chelsea in a private chat last year before the midfielder completed a move to the Bridge.
If Lavia can enjoy even half the career that Hazard did with the Blues, he’s going to be a gigantic success. The only worry for the 20-year-old talent is the amount of injuries he’s picking up so early into his career, though.
