What one source is saying about Cole Palmer's chances of playing against Arsenal - journalist
Chelsea fans are worried about Cole Palmer’s fitness going into Sunday’s game against Arsenal.
Cole Palmer was on the receiving end of a bad challenge from Lisandro Martinez in Chelsea‘s 1-1 draw with Manchester United last weekend.
It left their manager fuming, to the point where Enzo Maresca went to have words with referee Robert Jones after the game.
With Arsenal just below Chelsea in the Premier League table on goal difference, it is a game that both sides will be desperate to win.

Cole Palmer recovering from knock
Thankfully for Chelsea supporters, the injury that Palmer picked up at Old Trafford does not appear to be too serious.
In fact, according to one of journalist Simon Phillips’ sources, Palmer’s knee is “fine” and the attacking midfielder should be ready to play against Arsenal.
On Si Phillips Talks Chelsea, he wrote: “I am still testing this source so I have to make you all aware of that and the fact it might be hit or miss, for now at least.
“Anyway, the same source that updated me about Cole Palmer’s injury yesterday that I put on the live blog, has now said that Palmer is going to be fine to play against Arsenal and he’s got a box for his family there for the game. His knee is ‘fine’ and they are just not picturing him in training yet.”
Palmer did not have the best game against United. Former Chelsea player Jason Cundy has now come out to defend Palmer, with the 22-year-old coming in for criticism for his performance.
What has Enzo Maresca said about Cole Palmer’s injury?
Maresca could not confirm whether Palmer would return in time for Sunday’s London derby.
However, the Chelsea coach did sound a bit hopeful in his pre-match press conference earlier.
“Cole didn’t train yesterday,” Maresca shared when asked about Palmer’s fitness. “We will see today if he is able to train with us. We hope so [if fit vs Arsenal]. But we need to see and then decide.”
If Palmer is unable to make the matchday squad, then Joao Felix is likely to come in. The 24-year-old has been Chelsea’s back-up No.10 this season. Having barely played under Maresca, it is an opportunity that he would surely relish.

Chelsea supporters will want to see Palmer on the pitch, though. He is the team’s match-winner, recently scoring the decisive goal in the Blues’ 2-1 victory over Newcastle United.
Palmer may not have been at it against Manchester United, but he is still by far Chelsea’s best player. If he is not fit enough for the Arsenal clash, then fans should be worried.
