Chelsea fans in disbelief over one thing Nicolas Jackson did in Man City defeat, ‘I hate this’…

Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson failed to score in his side’s 3-1 loss to Manchester City over the weekend.

It means that Nicolas Jackson has not found the back of the net in any of his last seven Premier League outings.

His failure to score at the Etihad, though, does not seem to be the thing that irritated Chelsea supporters.

Instead, they are unhappy about one moment involving the 23-year-old and City defender Abdukodir Khusanov. Chelsea were reportedly interested in Khusanov, but the Uzbekistan international ended up joining Pep Guardiola’s side instead.

Chelsea fans hit out at Nicolas Jackson for comforting Abdukodir Khusanov

Khusanov was making his City debut and had a first 10 minutes to forget. The centre-back made a mistake that resulted in Chelsea scoring and taking the lead before picking up a yellow card shortly afterwards.

A clip of Jackson gently tapping Khusanov to offer him a bit of comfort after his tough start to the game has since emerged, and it is fair to say that Chelsea supporters on social media are not happy with what they have seen.

One Chelsea fan was surprised by the clip, believing that Jackson really should have been trying to get into the young defender’s head. He said: “I’m gonna be honest. I hate this. Why on earth is he trying to make an opponent feel better and help him to regain confidence? Laugh in his face, tread on his toes, push him about.”

Another Chelsea supporter also questioned Jackson’s act of kindness, saying: “Did Jackson touch Khusanov to cheer him up? Sell this bozo now!”

One other user on X did not hold back, going as far as to describe Jackson as an “idiot”.

The Senegal international’s mentality was also questioned by one supporter, who said: “Jackson is such a weakling man.”

Jackson’s lack of goals should be fans’ biggest concern at this moment in time. Chelsea could really do with an alternative to Jackson now that he is no longer firing.

Christopher Nkunku is still at the club, but Enzo Maresca has been overlooking him this season.

Nicolas Jackson’s reaction should not be shocking

Jackson knows how brutal English football can be, while Khusanov is still practically a boy at 20.

The former Villarreal striker came in for a lot of criticism from the media last term after some of the chances he missed. He probably predicted what Khusanov was about to go through.

All in all, there is not too much wrong with showing a little bit of sympathy to a young and inexperienced player. That is not why Chelsea lost on the day.
