Chelsea have just made first big move to beat Liverpool in race to sign winger who Jadon Sancho really rates - Romano
The days are ticking by now and Chelsea are still yet to make a permanent addition to their squad as part of the January transfer window.
The only boost to their squad in any capacity has been Trevoh Chalobah returning from his loan to provide cover in the centre-back positions.
The Blues are still reportedly looking at new defenders, however there are a number of other positions they are wanting to strengthen.

Chelsea enquire over signing Jamie Gittens in January
One of those is winger, with Mykhailo Mudryk remaining unavailable for selection leaving a void in that role.
One player they have been reportedly keen on bringing in there is Jamie Gittens, who is enjoying an excellent personal season at Borussia Dortmund.

Chelsea are not the only side intrigued by the prospect of a deal, with a number of Premier League sides such as Liverpool also watching the player closely.
His goalscoring threat is clearly appealing for the Blues, and Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Chelsea in the last week made a formal enquiry to try and sign the Englishman in January.

He said: “Chelsea made formal enquiry for Jamie Bynoe-Gittens last week, while Liverpool also sent their scouts several times to follow his progress this season.
“Borussia Dortmund expect JBG to stay in January; meanwhile, top English clubs have started to make their moves.”
Jadon Sancho a huge fan of Jamie Gittens
Gittens would likely be competing for a place on the left of Chelsea’s attack with Jadon Sancho, someone he has experience playing alongside for Dortmund.
The current Blue seems to be a big fan of the younger winger. Sancho praised Gittens for a performance in the Champions League earlier this season.
Chelsea recently missed out on a deal to sign Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as he is set to made his move to PSG, however look as if they are firmly in the race to sign the Dortmund man this month.
