Why Pedro Neto was absolutely fuming with Nicolas Jackson during Chelsea's draw with Crystal Palace - journalist

There was one moment during Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace where Pedro Neto was not too happy with Nicolas Jackson.

Neither Pedro Neto nor Nicolas Jackson had their most productive game, with the two attackers failing to score or provide an assist.

Once again, Chelsea relied on Cole Palmer to find the back of the net for them, but his goal was not enough to secure all three points for the Blues.

Despite not scoring, Enzo Maresca still felt that Jackson played well at Selhurst Park.

Pedro Neto wanted Nicolas Jackson to square the ball to him

Jackson is close to reaching the 10-goal mark in the Premier League, with the striker currently on nine.

That may have been on his mind when he took one shot during Chelsea’s draw with Palace. Jackson could have squared the ball to Neto but instead the 23-year-old went for goal.

According to journalist Bobby Vincent, who was at the game, his decision to do so left Neto absolutely furious.

Neto would have also been desperate to score, netting just once in the Premier League for Chelsea so far.

Paul Merson believes Jackson has to start for Chelsea away from home, but the Senegal international was not able to make too much of a difference at Selhurst Park.

Pedro Neto has underwhelmed at Chelsea

Chelsea paid more than £50m to sign Neto from Wolverhampton Wanderers last summer.

The 24-year-old arrived at Stamford Bridge with a reputation of being one of the most exciting wide players outside of the top six.

But again, he has just one Premier League goal since joining Maresca‘s side. It is a little bit disappointing, given Neto’s quality.

Ultimately, it is probably fair to say that the Portugal international has underwhelmed somewhat in a blue shirt. Hopefully he can raise his level soon, as Chelsea are really starting to struggle in front of goal, finding themselves being heavily reliant on Palmer again.
