Chelsea giving ‘fresh consideration’ to signing striker they turned didn’t want in January - journalist
It looks clear that Chelsea are going to search far and wide for the best possible striker to sign at the end of this season.
The Blues decided not to sign a new forward during the winter transfer window, seeming to put their faith in the players they already had to pull them through until the end of the campaign.
Nightmare struck on deadline day though as both Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu fell to injuries in the 2-1 win over West Ham.
Jackson has been crucial for Maresca this season, however is not set to return until April, leaving Enzo Maresca scrapping for options. Jason Cundy has suggested Chelsea try Pedro Neto up front.

Chelsea considering making a move to sign Viktor Gyokeres this summer
A number of names have been on the Blues’ shortlist for a striker in previous transfer windows, with one of them being Viktor Gyokeres.
Chelsea didn’t make a serious offer to sign the Sweden international in January, and this may be because of the player’s reported preference on a new club.
It was claimed Gyokeres would rather join another side rather than Chelsea, however they may be hoping he has changed his mind.
Ben Jacobs has claimed that the Blues are considering making a move to sign the Sporting Lisbon man, with him being available for a lot cheaper than before.
He said to GiveMeSport: “Sporting’s Viktor Gyokeres has come under fresh consideration despite being ruled out in January. Along with his excellent form, part of the reason why is because the Swedish striker will be able to leave for around €70m – €30m less than his release clause.”

Gyokeres is just one of a number of names who are likely to be considered by the club at the end of the season.
Victor Osimhen has been on the shortlist for some time, and John Obi Mikel has stated there is still a chance Chelsea still sign Oshimen.
Viktor Gyokeres’ tremendous Sporting Lisbon stats
Since his move from the Championship, very few strikers have found the net at the rate that Gyokeres has.
| Viktor Gyokeres Sporting Lisbon stats | Games | Goals | Assists |
| 2024/25 | 36 | 34 | 8 |
| 2023/24 | 51 | 43 | 15 |
Scoring nearly a goal a game, the Blues are crying out for someone like the Swede up front to save them from the situation they have found themselves in.
It looks as if Maresca is going to continue pursuing with Christopher Nkunku in front of goal, despite his inability to affect play in his the last two games.
The Frenchman’s future at Stamford Bridge is by no means secure right now, and many Chelsea fans would relish the chance to replace him with Gyokeres.
