Chelsea player ratings vs Brighton as Levi Colwill struggles and attacker scores 1/10
Chelsea’s week of matches on the South Coast ended in damning defeat as they lost again to Brighton, this time in the Premier League.
The Blues lost 3-0 after a sensational Kaoru Miroma opener was backed up by a double eitherside of half-time by Yankuba Minteh.
Enzo Maresca was desperate to find an answer to the injuries for Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu, however the Blues again offered very little in front of goal at the Amex.

With a host of weak defending sprinkled in too, Chelsea suffered arguably their worst defeat of the season.
The Chelsea Chronicle have rated every player who featured for the Blues in the damning defeat.
Chelsea player ratings vs Brighton
Filip Jorgensen – 5/10
Fresh off being named the new number one by Maresca, Filip Jorgensen did okay with the ball at his feet other than one scary moment, but may feel like he could have done more to stop Mitoma’s opener. Got unlucky with a deflection for the third goal that beat him at the near post.
Malo Gusto – 5/10
Started off bright in attack down the right but quickly saw a similar story with the battle against Mitoma at the other end. Malo Gusto did not come out on top.
Trevoh Chalobah – 4/10
Very little to cheer about for Trevoh Chalobah tonight, as Brighton ran riot on the Blues. Will need to perform far better if he is to turn around the likelihood of being sold this summer.
Levi Colwill – 4/10
Far too weak in giving away the ball for Brighton’s third goal, and nearly found his own net in the build up for the second goal. A poor return to the starting side for Levi Colwill.
Marc Cucurella – 4/10
Skipped past way too easily on a number of occasions by Minteh for his goals. Marc Cucurella was unpopular again on the South Coast, however didn’t answer with a solid performance tonight.
Moises Caicedo – 5/10
After a strong performance in the FA cup fixture between these sides a week earlier, Moises Caicedo put in a weaker display this time around. Was subbed off in the second half after picking up a first half booking.
Enzo Fernandez – 5/10
Looked off the pace in the middle of the park, and wasn’t able to influence things in attack. Less influence in the final third is proving a bit of a theme of late for Enzo Fernandez.
Noni Madueke – 6/10
Noni Madueke had started brightly on the right wing but was forced off with an apparent hamstring injury in the first half. Another attacking injury for Maresca to deal with.
Cole Palmer – 5/10
Cole Palmer’s frustrations continue as he struggled to make an impact again for Chelsea at the Amex. The England international at times featured in the false nine role in what looked a desperate attempt to find a solution for their striker woes.
Pedro Neto – 5/10
Pedro Neto started brightly down the left wing but was forced onto the right after Madueke’s injury. Tariq Lamptey got the better of him before he was replaced.
Christopher Nkunku – 4/10
Couldn’t get himself in the game at all whether it was up front or dropping into midfield. Christopher Nkunku is not looking like he can be the man to save Chelsea in the absence of Jackson.

Jadon Sancho – 1/10
An absolute non-factor after his early introduction. Jadon Sancho also saw his defensive contribution come into question, in what was another underwhelming performance. With the performance of another attacker off the bench, his time as a regular starter could be up despite Madueke’s injury.
Reece James – 6/10
Brought a bit of composure at the back after his introduction although it was already far too late in the day to make an impact. You’d think Reece James would be back in the starting side next weekend.
Kiernan Dewbsury-Hall – 3/10
A cameo which summed up his Chelsea career quite nicely. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was another who made zero impact on the side after being introduced.
Tyrique George – 6/10
Arguably Chelsea’s brightest spark in attack in the time he was on the pitch, Tyrique George had a positive impact on the side in just his second Premier League appearance.
