Chelsea predicted XI vs Legia Warsaw as Blues star makes first European start for club in crucial Conference League tie

Chelsea will need to shift their attention to European football this week as they take on Legia Warsaw in the Conference League quarter-final first leg.

The competition boasts the only chance for Enzo Maresca to win a trophy in his first season as manager at Stamford Bridge, with the Blues boasting a 100% record in the campaign so far.

The Blues rested plenty of key players for the draw to Brentford, with the games coming thick and fast as the season reaches its climax.

The visitors will be without Romeo Lavia after his recent injury woes, and while Wesley Fofana’s season is over, he was not named in the squad that Chelsea could choose from.

The Chelsea Chronicle have predicted the XI which wil start for the Blues against Legia Warsaw in Poland on Thursday.

Chelsea predicted XI vs Legia Warsaw

Filip Jorgensen

Chelsea’s rotation policy with the goalkeepers is set to continue, with Filip Jorgensen predicted to start between the sticks in Poland.

Josh Acheampong

Keen to manage Reece James’ fitness, there will be a rare opportunity for Josh Acheampong to make his mark. The youngster has seen very few opportunities come his way in 2025.

Tosin Adarabioyo

With Fofana’s injury leaving a void in the Blues defence, Tosin Adarabioyo will continue his audition to make himself an undroppable member of the backline going forwards.

Benoit Badiashile

Fresh off a full rest against Brentford, Benoit Badiashile will return to the backline for the European quarter-final. There will be a hope that he can impress Maresca after not being handed a start in place of Levi Colwill at the weekend.

Marc Cucurella

Perhaps the most shocking omission from the side for the London derby on Sunday was Marc Cucurella, however the same mistake will not be made again as he starts in our side.

Moises Caicedo

One player who has proven undroppable though is Moises Caicedo, and that will continue against Legia Warsaw. Expect him to be replaced by Enzo Fernandez at some stage during the 90 minutes.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

The Englishman impressed in a rare start against the Bees, and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall will be given another opportunity in a competition where he has seen the majority of his minutes come in since joining the Blues.

Cole Palmer

Another chance for Cole Palmer to put an end to his horrific goal drought that has plagued him in 2025. The England international was not even part of the squad for the group stages of this competition.

Noni Madueke

Noni Madueke is continuing to build his fitness up after returning from injury, and a game where Chelsea are expected to be on top will be another great opportunity for him to do that.

Tyrique George

One of the players who can count himself unlucky for not picking up more minutes of late is Tyrique George, however that will be addressed as he gets his chance in Poland. The youngster will be desperate to find the net for the first time for the Blues.

Nicolas Jackson

Nicolas Jackson will be handed his first European start for Chelsea after it has become obvious the team cannot really create chances without him on the pitch. Christopher Nkunku disappointed with his opportunity against Brentford.
