Report: The staggering demand Victor Osimhen is now making if Chelsea are to sign him this summer
Links between Chelsea and potential transfer target Victor Osimhen refuse to go away as another summer window approaches.
The Blues are expected to go big in the transfer market for a new striker, with reports continuing to link them to a player they almost signed back in the summer.
Club legend John Obi Mikel has explained that Osimhen is desperate to join Chelsea, with his future uncertain when his loan spell at Galatasaray comes to an end this summer.
Chelsea fans are convinced by Osimhen too. They have been calling for someone to come in who can guarantee them more than 20 goals a season straight away.
Nicolas Jackson has no doubt proven himself to be a key player as far as Blues are concerned right now, however the fact he is not hitting the numbers of a top striker is a problem that they are suffering as a result of.

Victor Osimhen demanding huge salary to join Chelsea
Given the fact that Osimhen has established himself as one of the best number nines in world football, it can be expected that the Blues will need to put up a lot of money to secure his signature.
A number of top sides are interested in him, but according to a report, very few will be able to afford his wages, perhaps including the Blues.
According to ESPN, the striker is demanding a yearly salary of around £9.5m after tax, an amount which would put him firmly amongst the top earners at Stamford Bridge.
It has been a clear aim of the Blues since Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali took over the club to bring down the club’s wage bill. A number of high earners are now completely out of the plans.

Chelsea’s current top earners
According to Capology, Chelsea’s highest earner is Reece James, who earns a yearly salary of around £13m a year, corresponding to £250k-per-week.
The club captain has established himself as one of the best players in the league when fit, and the fact he is homegrown and didn’t cost a transfer fee allows for him to top the list.
Only two other Blues earn more than the fee Osimhen is demanding, with one of those being Raheem Sterling, currently on loan at Arsenal.
Chelsea are keen on selling Sterling after it has become clear his levels have dropped greatly, although it is unlikely Mikel Arteta’s side will be interested in permanently signing him.
The only other player above Osimhen’s demands is Wesley Fofana, another player signed in the highly-regrettable first transfer window for the new owners.
The Frenchman has suffered at the hands of injury since joining the club, and the Blues will be contemplating whether he is worth the investment due to his frequent inavailability.
