Fabrizio Romano shares what he's now hearing about Enzo Maresca's future at Chelsea

Fabrizio Romano has given a big update on the future of Enzo Maresca amid Chelsea’s concerning performances.

The Blues have been very unconvincing of late and currently sit outside of the Premier League‘s top five spots, meaning that they are set to miss out on Champions League football as things stand.

Chelsea fans were heard chanting “attack, attack, attack” during one recent game, showing how unsatisfied they have been with the team’s performances.

Any supporter hoping to see a change in the dugout is likely to be left disappointed, though.

Chelsea not planning to replace Enzo Maresca

It will be interesting to see what happens if Chelsea fail to qualify for the Champions League, which looks like a real possibility.

However, as things stand, the club are not planning on replacing Maresca, according to Romano.

Speaking about the Chelsea manager on his YouTube channel, the Italian journalist said: “What I’m hearing is that Enzo Maresca is 100% involved in every single step of the process and of the project at Chelsea.

“He signed a long-term contract one year ago. I’m not hearing any kind of message on Chelsea planning to replace the coach or go for another coach despite some of the questions I’m receiving from Chelsea fans.”

Maresca succeeded Mauricio Pochettino in the Stamford Bridge dugout last summer, with the Argentine spending just one season there.

Before Pochettino’s appointment, Chelsea considered hiring Luis Enrique, who is now doing a fantastic job with Paris Saint-Germain.

Under the former Spain and Barcelona boss, the French club have been able to reach the semi-finals of the Champions League, where they will take on Chelsea’s London rivals Arsenal.

Enzo Maresca already making plans for next season

Maresca seems pretty sure that he will be in the Stamford Bridge dugout for the 2025/26 campaign, with the Italian already drawing up transfer plans.

It is being reported that Maresca has urged Chelsea to recruit Liam Delap, who he worked with at Manchester City.

The 22-year-old has been Ipswich Town’s standout performer this season, coming up with 14 goal contributions in 31 Premier League appearances.

For as good as Delap has been, though, the England U21 international alone is unlikely to improve the stale football Chelsea supporters have seen of late. Ultimately, there is a lot of work for Maresca to do if he is still at Chelsea next term.
