'The coach likes': Enzo Fernandez shares what he's been working on in Chelsea training, it's all because of Enzo Maresca
Enzo Fernandez proved to be the match-winner in Chelsea’s 1-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday.
The midfielder popped up in the 50th minute with a header after an excellent cross from Cole Palmer to give Chelsea all three points.
Fernandez was snubbed for WhoScored’s Premier League Team of the Week, with Palmer the only Chelsea player to be included.
The 24-year-old, though, played well overall and has now discussed his decisive goal against Ange Postecoglou’s men.

Enzo Fernandez working on getting into the box
Fernandez took up the position of a centre-forward for his goal, and it is something that he has been working on, with Enzo Maresca keen to see the Argentine arrive in the box.
“The cross from Cole was incredible,” Fernandez was quoted as saying by Chelsea’s official website. “I got myself into that position in the box, and it’s something I had been working on in training during the week, as the coach likes me getting into that position. I was there and luckily was able to score.”
Fernandez has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge, with Real Madrid thought to be interested in the Argentina international.
Last month, it was claimed that Real Madrid have Fernandez on their radar ahead of the summer transfer window.
However, it is now being reported that Fernandez is focused on Chelsea and that the club are not thinking about selling him.
The World Cup winner has been a key player for Maresca this season, making 36 appearances in all competitions. Across those games, he has scored six goals and provided nine assists.
Next up for Fernandez and Chelsea is another London derby against Brentford, which kicks off Sunday afternoon.

Enzo Fernandez on London derbies
Fernandez had already scored against Tottenham this season before their recent trip to the Bridge, and the former Benfica man has now spoken about his love for a London derby.
“I love the derbies,” Fernandez said. “I love playing in this type of game. I’m so happy I was able to score as well as scoring at Tottenham’s stadium too.
“I have a little museum at home with some things like this [his player of the match award]. I have a few others like this from this season, so it’ll go there along with some other awards I’ve won during my career.”
Chelsea’s next derby is one that they really need to win. The Blues have a lot of hard games coming up so cannot afford to drop points that they are expected to pick up.
Maresca’s men still have to play Liverpool, Newcastle United, Manchester United and Nottingham Forest. None of those matches are going to be easy.
