Chelsea devise plan to finally get rid of Ben Chilwell and his £200k-a-week salary - journalist
Ben Chilwell is not part of Enzo Maresca’s plans, but offloading him is proving to be a tricky task for Chelsea.
Chilwell is on huge wages at Stamford Bridge, making finding a buyer difficult for the club.
The defender spent the second half of last season out on loan at Crystal Palace, but the Eagles have shown no interest in signing him on a permanent deal.
Chelsea are now starting to run out of options, though they have found a solution for another one of their outcasts, Joao Felix. Felix is set to join Al-Nassr and give his current employers one less thing to worry about.

Chelsea could terminate Ben Chilwell’s contract
With a lack of suitors, Chelsea have seemingly arrived at a point where they could allow Chilwell to leave the club for free.
Journalist Simon Phillips has claimed on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea that the Blues could terminate the left-back’s contract if they cannot find a buyer for him.
The above will not be a cheap operation, though, as Chilwell still has two years remaining on his £200,000-a-week deal. On those wages, Chilwell is one of Chelsea’s highest-paid players.
| Rank | Player | Salary (per week) |
| 1. | Raheem Sterling | £325,000 |
| 2. | Reece James | £250,000 |
| 3. | Ben Chilwell | £200,000 |
| = | Wesley Fofana | £200,000 |
| 5. | Christopher Nkunku | £195,000 |
In May, it was claimed that Brentford were interested in signing Chilwell, but they have not sent any kind of offer to their west London rivals.
Since then, the 28-year-old has been linked with a move to another Premier League outfit.

Premier League club make Ben Chilwell enquiry
Following their return to English football’s top flight, it has been reported that Burnley have enquired about signing Chilwell from Chelsea this summer.
It means Chelsea may still be able to find the England international a new home. But if Burnley’s interest does not materialise into something serious, then it looks like the Club World Cup winners could just terminate the player’s contract.
While Chilwell could be leaving west London, Jorrel Hato could be arriving. Chelsea are targeting Hato right now as they look for cover for Marc Cucurella.
